MOOG Facility Expansion

Blacksburg, Virginia

Mt. Rogers Community Services Building

This is a 70,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility. It was a design/build project. This facility required 40,000 cfm of exhaust (and consequently, make-up air). We worked with OWPR Architects/engineers (Blacksburg, Va.) to come up with an energy saving design, incorporating energy recovery units that reduced the cooling load from 300 tons to 150 tons. This is a very GREEN system.

The heating and cooling for the building is done with a 150 ton chill water system, and 92% efficiency hot water boilers. Temperature and humidity is controlled in the building by DDC controls.

This project had a lot of sheet metal and piping working involved and was on a very tight schedule.
